Take a browse through our rental fleet!
Unlike most flight schools, we emphasize tailwheel aircraft usage early on in pilot training, and we make all our tailwheel aircraft available for solo student pilot rental and general pilot rental just like any other airplane (this is extremely rare).
Before renting any of our aircraft for personal use, you will need to be FAA-current and have demonstrated your proficiency to one of our CFIs on a checkout flight in that aircraft within the past 24 calendar months.
All aircraft rental rates are WET (meaning fuel is included). We keep these rate pages updated, so what you see is what you get.
N8428D: Piper Pacer PA-22/20-160 (4-place tailwheel)
Normal rate: $160 per hour (wet)
Block rate:* $150 per hour (wet)
N7181T: Cessna 172A (4-place nosewheel)
Normal rate: $140 per hour (wet)
Block rate:* $130 per hour (wet)
* "Block rate" explanation:
Block rates for $2,000 block payments: $10 off aircraft rental rate, CFI rate remains the same.
Block rates for $4,000 block payments: $10 off aircraft rental rate, $10 off CFI rate (flight and ground).
Block payments made by card will be charged an additional 3% card fee.
We all know flight training costs a lot. At Skyborne Adventures we want to do what we can to help ease the financial side of things for serious students. Block is good for pilots who know they will be training often. The block rate discounts last for 30 days, after which the remaining block payment you have on account will be used up at normal rates.
Refunds on account balances are NOT generally made; the one exception to this would be pilots who have a leftover balance after training with us and passing an FAA checkride, in which case we will refund your account if requested. (Refunds may take up to 30 days to process.) In all other cases, you will need to fly off any account balance you have with us.
If the aircraft you are using goes down for maintenance during your 30-day block rate period, we will extend your discount period until the aircraft is back up and running again.
In case you were wondering, our CFIs receive the same amount for their time regardless of whether or not you are paying block rate. We value our instructors and want them to be well-rewarded for their hard work! Ultimately, most of your interaction with Skyborne Adventures will be with your personal CFI, and we want them to provide you with an excellent training experience whatever rate you are paying.
Thanks for flying with us!
